Who can participate?
The CTF competition is aimed at anyone who finds IT security interesting, and is open to both beginners and slightly experienced participants. The most important thing is that you are curious and want to throw yourself into it. You will learn about – and be challenged in – your security skills in disciplines such as Webhacking, Binary Exploitation (PWN), Reversing, Forensics and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
Why should you participate?
Are you interested in learning more about specific types of web hacking, e.g. SQL injection or the use of forensics to detect an intruder in systems? Or are you curious about using OSINT to find a person? Then this CTF competition is the perfect opportunity for you. You will have the opportunity to test your skills in these disciplines, while learning new techniques and tools.
What do you need to participate?
To participate in the competition, we recommend that you bring a computer on which you have administrator rights, so that you can run security tools and possibly virtual machines on the machine. We recommend that you have a Linux operating system, e.g. Kali or Ubuntu installed on the computer so that you can install relevant IT tools, but many of the tasks can also be solved directly from your web browser on your Windows PC or Chromebook.
So – bring your laptop to V2 Security and take part in the competition. You will be challenged by some of the best IT security experts in the industry, and you will have the opportunity to expand your network and meet like-minded people. Take the opportunity and come and discover the world of hacking and IT security.
You can register alone or as a team.
Please note that we will screen all registered participants to ensure the competition is fair. We therefore reserve the right to adjust registrations thereafter.
Hopefully we’ll see you at V2 Security 2023!
